De quoi s'agit-il?
_____________________________

With money and people's attitude towards it having been very much in the public eye over the last few years, it has always been pretty high on people's agenda and L'avare reminds us of its corrupting effect.

Harpagon loves having money and keeping hold of it; he's not too worried about doing anything with it and deplores his own children wasting it. He has plans to marry again to a young woman who unfortunately his own son has his eyes on.

So a typical Molière plot with the highly exaggerated main character, the love sick young people and spirited servants.

No need to worry about the 17th century French, the language is very approachable particularly with the alevelfrench.com materials to help out.
